Dalton Manufacturing Company is a CNC machining facility that provides production and short run machining in support of manufacturing companies. We specialize in 4th axis machining of both CNC milled and turned parts.

A highly respected shop with 15 long-term employees, the company was established in 1936 and has been run by three generations of the Dalton family. The stability of effective management and employee retention has steadily grown the company over the years.

As an outsource partner Dalton Manufacturing provides one-stop precision CNC machining services for production and prototype parts, and provides quality machining to manufacturers throughout New England and other regions in the U.S.

Griff-Dalton - CEO of Dalton ManufacturingHoward “Griff” Dalton is the Owner and President of Dalton Manufacturing.

Griff takes a hands-on approach to running his company.
He stays up-to-date on the progress of customer orders and gets involved to solve problems that may impact a delivery schedule.

Griff takes an active interest in the local community of Amesbury, Massachusetts. He is past Chair of the Amesbury Planning Board and has been a member since 1977. Additionally, Griff is a corporator with The Provident Bank.

During his time away from the shop Griff can be found shooting photographs, finishing a woodworking project, doing auto restoration or playing golf.

 

Steve Holmes is the Engineering Manager  for Dalton Manufacturing.

Steve is responsible for all of the programming and process engineering of customer parts. Together with the Operations Manager, Steve develops the best tooling and fixturing package to process the parts in accordance with the customer’s quality requirements.

Steve interacts frequently with our customers’ engineering departments to discuss drawing dimensions, tolerance callouts and solid modeling of their parts. He maintains all of our engineering files to insure that we have the current revision levels of all parts ordered.

Steve has a strong background in CAD/CAM systems and a vast knowledge of materials having worked for over thirty years in the defense and aerospace related industries.

Away from the shop Steve enjoys golf, gardening, boating and a host of outdoor activities.

 

Steve Materkowski is the Operations Manager for Dalton Manufacturing.

Steve is responsible for the scheduling of our work load and the day to day operations of the machine shop floor.  He stays in constant contact with our customers and adjusts his schedule in accordance with their needs. Steve also does the quoting for Dalton and works closely with our customers to balance order quantity and delivery dates to achieve the best pricing possible.

Steve has a strong machining background having worked in the defense, aerospace and commercial markets. He also has a strong background in tooling and fixturing and works closely with our Engineering Manager to develop the best process for the production run.

Away from the shop, Steve is currently renovating a mountain lake cabin where he and his family can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
